The A330 is one of the most widely used aircraft in the world.

The Airbus A330 Type Rating is designed to provide pilots with all the knowledge required to understand the basic functions of the aircraft systems, operate the components of each system, and train operational procedures using checklists and flight instruments.

The objective is for students to become proficient in all emergency manoeuvres, operational procedures, and multi-crew operations.

A pilot already trained on the Airbus A320 can transition to the A330 with fewer training hours than normally required.

This EASA Airbus A330 Type Rating is recognised by all European airlines and accepted by international operators.

Our programme offers pilots a safe and cost-effective way to practise procedures before progressing to the Full Flight Simulator (FFS). How to get certified to be a pilot on A330

To be certified to fly the Airbus A330, you don’t start directly on it, you progress through a structured airline pilot pathway, and the A330 comes later as a type rating after you already hold an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or equivalent.

You study the Airbus A330 systems, performance, and operational procedures in detail. This includes aircraft systems, flight management, normal and abnormal procedures, and airline SOPs, preparing you for simulator and line operations.
You progress to full-flight simulator training, where you practice normal operations, failures, and complex scenarios in a high-fidelity environment. This phase develops handling, decision-making, and crew coordination in realistic airline conditions.
The final stage is conducted in the simulator under airline approval, followed by supervised line operations. You transition directly from simulator to the aircraft, completing initial line flights under instructor supervision before full release to line flying.
