A320 or B737 MAX Simulator
Basic and advanced simulators in Lisbon or Viseu
The main objective of this practical assessment is to prepare the candidate for a simulator evaluation for the airline recruitment process. In the assessment, the candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate basic handling skills, instrument flight, procedures, and fault management. They must exhibit both NOTEHs and TEM (threat and error management) throughout the assessment.
The purpose is not to be proficient in the aircraft; it is merely an exercise to evaluate the candidate’s manual flight capabilities, NOTEH and TEM skills, and fault management model.

Profile Summary
The exercise may be conducted from various airports, as detailed in the Assessment Profile. It typically begins with a manual flight SID (Standard Instrument Departure), although in some cases it may be replaced by a non-standard departure.
The exercises are designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate their learning potential and rate of improvement. Particular emphasis is placed on self-assessment skills, the ability to absorb and apply instructions, and the demonstration of a clear and consistent learning curve throughout the assessment.
Assessor's Role
During the assessment, the assessor may be required to perform the duties of both Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM).
When acting as PF, the assessor should operate the aircraft in a manner that provides the candidate with adequate and realistic opportunities to perform the PM role. When acting as PM, the assessor should act only in accordance with the PF’s instructions and should make no attempt to influence the candidate’s decisions or actions. Standard monitoring callouts relating to speed, altitude, pitch, bank angle, and other relevant flight parameters should be made as appropriate.
When providing instruction from the simulator instructor station, the assessor should endeavour to simulate Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications using standard radiotelephony phraseology. While it is recognised that simulating ATC may be challenging when simultaneously performing Pilot Monitoring duties, maintaining realistic ATC interaction enhances the assessment environment and provides additional value to the candidate.
To facilitate the demonstration of learning ability, adaptability, and responsiveness to instruction, candidates may be given the opportunity to repeat specific elements of the exercise whenever the assessors deem it appropriate.
